Hank William Jackson was born December 22, 1965 in Lafayette Georgia. Hank’s parents were Jimmy and Barbara Jackson . He is the youngest son of three boys.
Hank’s mom passed away when he was three years old and his dad moved the boys to Tennessee.
Hank was raised on a farm until he moved to Clark Range Tennessee when he was twelve . His father installed Jesus in Hank and his brothers. Hank read the Bible to his dad and brothers before bed at night.
His dad had a love for Music that was passed down to Hank. He taught himself to play the drums on Folgers coffee cans. He would practice on the cans and after he got good at keeping the beat with the coffee cans, his dad said if he would save his money, he would take him to buy a set of drums. His dad got him a job working on a farm that summer, hauling hay. He bought his first set of drums for $93.00.
Hank also taught himself how to play the bass guitar, acoustic guitar and piano. Hank,s brothers could also play the guitar and his dad would take the boys and travel around church to church playing gospel music.
Once they were playing in Ypsilanti, Michigan and after traveling all that way, the preacher of the church they were singing at told them that drums were not allowed. Hanks dad pulled him to the side and told him they were going to sing, but he would never take another singing that he was not allowed to play his drums.
Hank’s dad remarried and his stepmom,Billie,would sing with them. They were called “The Singing Jackson’s”.
Hank family moved to Georgia when he was 17 years old. He stepped away from music and from God. He met his first wife Carol in 1986. Hank felt the call from Jesus very strong in 1998 . He got down on his knees and ask Jesus into his heart . Carol soon followed and they were baptized.
Hank and Carol moved back to Sparta Tennessee in 2007. Hank was logging when he was inspired to write “The House’. God started giving him the lyrics and he started wring them down on a brown paper bag.
Hank and Carol decided to record Hanks songs in 2020. Due to Covid, Josh Swift, had some downtime and recorded Hanks’ CD, “The House”. Shortly after recording the CD, Hank lost his wife Carol of 35 years to Covid.
Hank still lives in Sparta, Tennessee and has remarried Sonya Jackson. Hanks love for Jesus and love for his music is a ministry he wants to share with everyone. God has blessed Hank with the ability to create beautiful songs for the uplifting of Kingdom of God.
